IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT OHR TIKVAH
JEWISH HEALING CENTER
This week (July 1, 2009), Ohr Tikvah Jewish Healing Center will officially merge with Jewish Family Service of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties (JFS). The merger represents a natural evolution of Ohr Tikvah’s mission and an exciting match with a highly respected and established organization in the community.
By merging Ohr Tikvah’s assets: programming expertise, provision of community spiritual resources and Board member commitment, with the rich assets of Jewish Family Services, we are confident that Ohr Tikvah can continue to expand our programming agendas, grow our volunteer base, and enhance the good work of JFS.
Ohr Tikvah has achieved a great deal since its inception in 2003. We have offered the community a wide array of programs including spiritual support groups; healing worship services; innovative programs on topics such as nutrition, body image, parenting, children with special needs; and wellness programs such as Jewish meditation, drumming and chanting.
Most recently, this year, we brought on a Community Rabbi-- the very talented Rabbi Robin Nafshi-- who has introduced new initiatives and has been meeting the needs of underserved members of our community in a meaningful way.
Ohr Tikvah will continue to bring you exciting new programs in the future, under the auspices of JFS.
Rabbi Nafhsi also will continue her role as Community Rabbi. We look to you for your continued support and participation in our initiatives, and welcome new programming ideas and support from new volunteers.
At some point in the near future, the information on this site will be merged with that of JFS, and be accessible at
From the entire Board of Ohr Tikvah Jewish Healing Center,
thank you for your past participation and support!
We look forward to seeing you at our new programming this Fall and beyond.
We wish you a restful and joyous Summer!
